ZOTIK Silent Needle Cage Series

Advantages Over Standard HW Needle Cages

  • Lower operating noise than standard aluminum HW needle cages
  • Improved motion stability during reciprocating movement
  • Plastic contact surfaces help reduce metal-to-metal friction
  • Better wear resistance at cage contact areas
  • Bearing-steel needle rollers for reliable load support
  • Suitable for precision equipment requiring quiet and smooth motion

A higher-performance option for applications where low noise, wear resistance, and long-term stability are more important than minimum component cost.

The ZOTIK Silent Needle Cage Series is developed for precision linear guideway applications requiring smoother, quieter, and more stable motion than conventional aluminum needle cages. The cage combines a high-strength stainless ferrous frame, engineered plastic contact surfaces, and bearing-steel needle rollers to reduce metal-to-metal contact during operation.

Compared with conventional HW-type needle cages made from aluminum alloy and bearing-steel needles, the ZOTIK Silent Needle Cage Series uses plastic contact surfaces between the cage structure and the bearing-steel needle rollers. This design helps reduce running noise, improve wear resistance, and provide more stable roller guidance during reciprocating motion.

The main trade-off is cost. Due to the more complex material combination and manufacturing process, this series is generally priced higher than standard HW-type aluminum needle cages. It is therefore better suited to precision equipment where low noise, smooth running, and long-term stability are more important than minimum component cost.

Material Structure and Low-Noise Design

The ZOTIK Silent Needle Cage Series uses a multi-material structure to improve running performance. The cage combines a high-strength stainless ferrous frame, engineered plastic contact surfaces, and bearing-steel needle rollers. During reciprocating motion, the plastic contact areas help reduce direct metal-to-metal contact between the cage structure and the needle rollers, contributing to lower operating noise, smoother movement, and improved wear resistance.

Compared with conventional aluminum HW-type needle cages, this structure is better suited to precision equipment where stable motion, reduced noise, and long-term operating consistency are important. The bearing-steel needle rollers continue to provide reliable rolling contact, while the plastic contact surfaces help improve the overall running characteristics of the cage assembly.
